“Kevin came out to do an inspection on a house we wanted to purchase. He inspected the furnace, air conditioner, indoor Pool De­humidification system, and pool boiler. He spent several hours with me, going over every piece of equipment. All while explaining how to use everything in the pool area. He also opened every item up and checked each out for issues and peace of mind, and turned everything on to ensure it was all in working condition. He went above and beyond what i thought i was paying him to do. He pointed out several code violations, and put a list together for everything that needs immediate attention, vs 3­5 years out on what to look for and plan for. He also inspected my electrical box and several other items he saw while in the areas.

“First I called Godwin who told me they couldn’t help because I had plastic pipes and hung up after telling me there wasn’t really a solution and I needed to wait it out. Looked up plumbers on Google and found Vander Hyde. Called and talked to a lady who said they had a plumber right down the road and would send shorty. Greg and Pat showed up and were honest about the fact it might take some time to find the frozen pipe, but they would do their best. They found the pipe in less than 20 minutes and had everything running in just over an hour after digging through 3 feet of insulation. I thought they did a great job and felt like I should post my review.”

“Vander Hyde installed my Carrier Infinity heat pump a little over a year ago, and I’m very pleased with the purchase. Compared to the heat pump it replaced, the Infinity is far superior in all areas of performance. It is more powerful, more efficient, runs quieter, has variable speed operation (so it’s not either 100% on or 100% off, but fluctuates as required), and operates at a lower outside temperature (it switches over to propane only on the very coldest of days). While no two winters are the same, I definitely used a lot less propane this past heating season (at least 50% less, even more impressive considering how mild the previous winter was). I am also pleased with its cooling performance in the summer. While the system was a significant investment, I am confident I will re­coup the cost in the long run with lower utility costs, and the 10 year warranty gives me additional piece of mind.”

Placed my call to Vander Hyde at 1:08 PM today. Rachel took my information, checked availability of service, and let me know that I should expect someone between 2:00 and 4:00. She was pleasant and efficient and even thanked me for holding. Next, I received a text restating the planned service time, and right after two o'clock, Ed Phelps walked into the bookstore where I volunteer! We made our way down to the steam boiler where I briefly restated what had been going on. Ed checked a few possible trouble spots, then tapped a little box I hadn't even noticed before, et voila! (Wow! in French) something started! He explained what the float switch did, why it messed up, and even showed me what was inside. He took pictures of the part info from inside its cover in case we decide to replace it. He continued systematic evaluation and discussion, and we agreed on what his estimate should cover. We even shared a laugh over all the printout waste that occurs in our "paperless" computer world before he left. I was happy to give Ed Phelps 5 stars for knowing, doing, and explaining! And really, really happy to see the temperature rising! ( :

Our home boiler was having issues, we called Vander Hyde. They had done some work for us a couple years ago, and after doing a great job we decided to call them again. I had a pleasant conversation with Rachel V to schedule a service appointment. She was clear, concise, friendly and gave me all the information needed. She gave us a time window of two hours for the appointment. Jeff G called us to confirm he was coming and was right on time. He diagnosed the issue, put a plan in place to get it fixed, and my wife felt very comfortable during the whole process. He was polite, professional and prompt - which we both appreciate. We still have to receive the part and get it installed, but so far Vander Hyde has provided an exceptional customer experience for us.

Later they were involved in the complete remodel of our home, replacing our duct work, entire plumbing system and installation of new natural gas lines. Today they continued the tradition with a service call by Dionis Bugari, prompt ,thorough and. professional . Not only did he fix the issue with our furnace, but he caught a small leak in the gas supply to our hot water tank.
